My name is Rebecca, and as a warm, empathetic, rewarding and direct therapist, I have come to understand the individual nature of each individual client through one simple formula: Listen - Learn - Grow. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of talking therapy and is a common treatment for a range of mental health problems. CBT teaches you coping strategies for dealing with a range of problems, focusing on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are intertwined, and negative thoughts and emotions can trap you in a vicious cycle.
CBT helps you to deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
With support, you're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve your feelings and behaviours.
CBT focuses on your current problems, rather than focusing on problems in your past, and looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis.
Significant research shows that online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is just as effective as face to face CBT, with the added benefit of having your CBT appointments with a qualified CBT specialist from the comfort of your own home or chosen space and at a time that suits you.
CBT sessions are delivered via secure internet video calls (or audio if you'd prefer), using Zoom (Skype and Teams is also an option for you if you'd prefer), using screen sharing and an extensive range of CBT resources. This means that you can talk to your therapist whilst working with relevant CBT material on screen and in real time (resources used in sessions are also emailed to you following your appointment). All you need is an internet connection, a computer or electronic device.
